There is something to be said for a game that understands its core premise. Grab a weapon, go into a dark and dangerous place and shoot monsters. There isnt a story to clog things up, and I say that as some one who loves stories in games, there isnt a lot of subtext. You have two guns, no go in there and clean out the level before moving to the next one.
My only quibble is more that the map is found through the pause button rather than being displayed on the screen. Im not sure if its because I am playing the game on a iPad mini 2, or because its never visible, but some help with the layout when Im moving about would have been appreciated. But then again, it would spoil some of the surprise of things coming out of the dark.
